The West Central Minnesota Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has partnered with Stevens County Economic Improvement Commission, Inc. (SCEIC) offering local office hours. A consultant from the SBDC will be at SCEIC (located at 507 Atlantic Avenue, Morris) on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 10 AM to 2 PM to meet with small business owners and entrepreneurs. SBDC’s services are available to all of Stevens County and the surrounding communities.
The goal of the SBDC is to stimulate the economy and promote new job opportunities through small business. The SBDC provides free information and confidential counseling to assist people to start, to build, and to grow their businesses. SBDC consultants meet with small business owners who have businesses in any stage; work with individuals who are just getting started in developing their business plans; and, SBDC works with those business owners have been in business for many years. SBDC provides counseling, training, and information in all aspects of small business management and development including (but not limited to): Strategic Planning, Financial Projections, Market Analysis, Mergers and Acquisitions, Expansion, Diversification, Franchising, Loan Packaging, Accounting and Record Keeping, Patents, Human Resources, Marketing Plans, and Business Planning. In addition to the one-on-one counseling services, SBDC partners with many organizations to provide a variety of business training workshops and events.
The services of SBDC are confidential, one-on-one, and are provided at no charge. Scheduled appointments with a SBDC consultant are recommended, but walk-ins are also welcome.
